FREELANCE • WEB DEVELOPMENT

Part time, contract position with flexible hours at a graphic design studio with a creative environment in Washington, DC. Responsibilities include finding solutions for complex backend problems, and the ability to take an abstract idea and follow it through to production for a range of projects.

The ideal candidate is easy-going with a strong work ethic and the personality for a diverse, customer service oriented, casual work environment. The candidate should enjoy meeting daily challenges with enthusiasm. This position requires initiative, researching new technologies and interaction with experienced peers while offering potential for growth.

NECESSARY PROFICIENCY IN:

PHP, SQL, AJAX, XML, Javascript, as well as an extremely solid understanding of XHTML and CSS. Knowledge of CMS's of various sizes/complexity (ie. Drupal, Wordpress, etc)

KNOWLEDGE OF THE FOLLOWING A PLUS:

RoR, ASP, .NET, etc.

RESPONSIBILITY HIGHLIGHTS

Assist in web production and development
Creating and managing backend programs/databases for new and existing web sites
Assisting in the integration of backend systems into frontend code
Information Architecture
Management, maintenance and updates

REQUIREMENTS

Efficiently produce accurate, high-quality results
Follow direction and meet deadlines
Work as part of a team
Good organizing and communication skills
